Battery Saving Modes or Optimisation Settings are the most likely cause of Ski Tracks not tracking and pausing.
Battery/Power Saving and Protected App Settings
Battery/Power saving modes can turn off the GPS. Ski Tracks requires GPS to track.
Samsung devices:
Access Battery settings > App Power Saving > Details > Ski Tracks > Disabled
General Samsung Device Settings
Settings > Apps > Ski Tracks > Permissions > Location > On
Settings > Apps > Ski Tracks > Battery > Optimise battery usage > Not Optimised
Settings > Apps > Ski Tracks > Battery > Allow background activity > On
Settings > Device Care > Battery > High Performance or High or Maximum
Huawei devices:
Turn Energy Settings to Normal and add Ski Tracks to Protected Apps.
HTC devices:
Phone Settings -> Battery -> Power Saving Mode -> Battery Optimization -> select app -> don’t optimise -> save.
Google Devices
Settings > Battery Saver > Off
Settings > Apps & Notifications > Special app access > Battery optimisations > Not Optimised (Ski Tracks should be in list)
Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Info > Ski Tracks > Advanced (Battery) > Background Restriction = Background usage can't be restricted.
Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Info > Ski Tracks > Advanced (Battery) > Battery Optimisation = Not Optimised
Google Devices and Android 10
Open Settings on your device then check the following:
Locations > App Permissions > Ski Tracks > Allow all the time
Battery > Battery Saver > Off
Apps & Notifications (Press see all apps) > Ski Tracks > Battery > Battery Optimisation > (Should be Not optimised)
We support many android devices, the settings are different for each device. Please try and find a similar setting to above, changing these settings will allow Ski Tracks to track.
Optimisation Settings
When the setting (Optimisation) is active Ski Tracks can pause or not track distance. Please disable optimization for Ski Tracks if Enabled on Android devices running versions 6 and higher.
One Plus devices:
Phone Settings > Battery > Battery optimisation - switch to the All apps list (Top menu) – Select Ski Tracks and choose Don’t optimise
Samsung devices:
Phone Settings > Applications > Select three dot menu (Top right corner) > Special Access > Optimise Battery usage > ensure that Ski Tracks is NOT selected.
Huawei devices:
Phone Settings > Apps > Advanced (At the bottom) > Ignore optimisations - Press 'Allowed' and select All apps - ensure Ski Tracks is set to Allow.
HTC devices:

MIUI devices:
Phone Settings > Additional Settings > Battery & Performance > Manage apps' battery usage > Choose apps and select Ski Tracks
Phone Settings > Additional Settings > Privacy > Location.
Check that you are using High Accuracy for Location Mode and also allowing location access.
Configure app so it can use GPS in the background.
Sony devices:
Phone Settings > Battery > Select the (...) menu in the top right corner and press Battery Optimisation > Apps > Ski Tracks
LG devices:
Phone Settings > Battery & Power saving – Battery usage > Ignore optimisations > Turn on to ignore battery optimization for Ski Tracks.
Motorola devices:
Phone Settings > Battery > tap the menu in the top right corner () – Select Battery Optimization’ > Tap Not Optimised and select All Apps – Find Ski Tracks on this list and Select ‘Don’t Optimize’.
